The Bill of Rights

This is an absolute must read. We live in an era where not only do our "leaders" not understand that their role is to follow, they clearly do not pay any heed to the limits placed upon them. We have had chief executives of both parties who view the Constitution they've sworn to uphold as a minor annoyance. We have an incoming Vice President who cannot remember which Article deals with the Congress, and which the Executive. Our courts look to foreign sources for "authority" rather than to our own founding documents. In the midst of an economic malaise, raised by our media to a catastrophe, we find again the government arrogating to itself powers that it is expressly prohibited from wielding, and obligating our grandchildren to pay the ballooning debts of today.

Long ago I took an oath to "preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic." In the thirty years since then, I've never had to think as hard about what that means as in the last six months. An astute observer can see the signs of a coming catastrophe all around. When will enough of the people notice the Bill of Rights to make a difference in the Nation's course?

Get Ready

This is a must read. Stand by for inflation that makes the 70's look like the good old days. I don't know if it's the best strategy, but I'm working hard to discharge as much debt as I possibly can. I figure that fewer monthly payments means more money available to pay increasing costs. I'm also embarking on a food storage program to help get over any future rough spots.

The current low prices for gas are not a good sign. Rather, they indicate a fundamental weakness in the economy. Get ready.
